Georges “Kiki” Cuisance In 1968, I followed my dear, late, sister Mary Anne, my mentor and best friend to Chicago. Our family hailed from Baraboo, Wisconsin and the bright lights of Chicago beckoned us! Mary was the Manager of Special Events & Promotions at Carson Pirie Scott & Co., the iconic department store located at the world’s busiest corner, State & Madison. My sister Antoinette and I were members of a Carson’s summer employment program called “College Board”. We were introduced to Georges “Kiki” Cuisance as Mary and her co-workers and would (retire) to LeBordeaux the subterranean authentic French bistro owned by Mr. Cuisance. Kiki would scurry around and serve the patrons his delectable French cuisine and fine wines. It was there that I was introduced to a menu of fine food and wines that were never even heard of in Baraboo! Kiki came to Chicago 50 years ago and began his career at Maxim’s de Paris on the Gold Coast as a wine sommelier. Today he is the proud owner of Kiki’s Bistro located on the “Rue de Kiki” at 900 North Franklin in River North. Kiki is “the Renaissance man” of River North, credited with bringing life back to that area in 1990. Kiki and I have been friends for over 50 years and I still enjoy his company and the finest French cuisine in Chicago. We work on public relations, marketing and promotion for Kiki and it is truly a pleasure. www.kikisbistro.com. Meet Members of The Jane Network

25th Anniversary in Teaching and hosting Jammin with Jane Jane Canepa has been an adjunct faculty member at Columbia College Chicago since 1991. Hired by Mort Kaplan of Ketchum Public Relations fame, the school needed a special events teacher. Jane was one of a handful of professionals in Chicago who were actively planning, promoting and publicizing special events. The class flourished and the hands on experience began by having students participate in special events as a way to earn a grade in the class. The Eventors served as the public relations agency for the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge, Hinckley & Schmitt Bottled Water, and Hilda of Iceland, a woolen goods manufacturer based in Reykjavik, Iceland. Jane and her staff managed public relations and marketing campaigns on a local, national and international basis. These relationships expanded to numerous amateur athlete sporting events for a myriad of charities and fundraising groups. Jane was involved with The City of Chicago, the Mayor's Office of Special Events, and is a lifetime member of the Publicity Club of Chicago. By publicizing and promoting the Shamrock Shuffle, Taste of Chicago, Chicago Marathon, The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, and The Thanksgiving Day Parade, matching Columbia College students with these events was a great opportunity. A final exam event project grew out of an idea by some of the first students. Plan an event as the end of semester activity. A small but well organized “Graduation party” was held at the Chicago Marriott in 1991 and the seed for future final exams was born. Today, “Jammin with Jane” is the final exam project for the classes that are part of Columbia College’s Business & Entrepreneurship Department. Visit www.jamminwithjane.com to learn more about the event. “EVERYDAY IS A SPECIAL EVENT! MAKE IT A GREAT ONE!” Sign Up! Receive updates from The Eventors, Inc. by emailing us at info@eventors.us Looking forward to seeing you soon!
